If you haven’t heard about ChatGPT yet…. do you live under a rock?!?
The popularity of ChatGPT is growing exponentially, with billions of dollars being thrown at it by Microsoft and others.
ChatGPT, and AI (Artificial Intelligence) in general, are considered to be very ‘disruptive’ technologies, i.e. will have a profound effect on all our lives, business and personal, whether we know or like it or not.
AI and ML (Machine Learning) have actually been around for years in various guises. But they’ve now officially broken out of the lab, and into the mainstream. 2023 is the year!
ChatGPT has even been described as a Google Killer, because of the potential it has to disrupt Google’s main business: search. This is why Google can’t launch its rival service, Bard, fast enough.

Please note:
- At time of typing, ChatGPT is still free. A US$20/month pro version is currently being trialed in the USA.
- Demand is so huge that you might not be able to use it the first time of asking. Be patient!
- Don’t be deceived by mobile apps claiming (falsely) to be ChatGPT. The one and only official way to access ChatGPT is via the web link, above.
Oh… and the rest of this article has been written almost 100% by ChatGPT. Wow!
(note the references at the foot of this article are only as recent as 2021. This is because ChatGPT has not, yet, been trained with data newer than 2021. That’ll change rapidly!)
ChatGPT, which stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is a cutting-edge AI language model developed by OpenAI. This model has been trained on vast amounts of data to generate human-like responses to natural language inputs, making it an ideal tool for businesses looking to improve their customer support, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance customer engagement.
In today’s fast-paced business environment, customer expectations are high, and businesses must do all they can to provide fast and efficient support. ChatGPT enables businesses to automate their customer service and support functions, freeing up valuable resources to focus on other important tasks. The model is trained to understand customer queries and respond with relevant information, reducing the need for human intervention. This not only saves time and resources, but it also ensures that customers receive consistent and accurate answers to their questions.
Another important advantage of ChatGPT is its ability to process large amounts of data and analyze it in real-time. This can be particularly beneficial for businesses that need to keep track of customer feedback and make data-driven decisions. With ChatGPT, businesses can gain valuable insights into customer preferences, buying habits, and trends, which can be used to improve customer experience, target marketing efforts, and drive business growth.
In the future, the capabilities of ChatGPT will only continue to grow. As the model is trained on more data and advanced AI algorithms, it will become even better at understanding and processing natural language. This will result in even more sophisticated and accurate customer support, making it an indispensable tool for businesses that want to stay ahead of the curve.
Moreover, the integration of ChatGPT with other AI technologies, such as voice recognition and machine vision, will make it possible for businesses to interact with customers in new and innovative ways. With the ability to understand and respond to voice commands and image inputs, ChatGPT will revolutionize the way businesses interact with customers, making customer support and engagement more seamless and personalized.
In conclusion, ChatGPT is a powerful tool that businesses can use to improve their customer support, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance customer engagement. Its ability to process large amounts of data and respond in real-time make it an ideal tool for businesses looking to stay ahead of the curve. The future is bright for ChatGPT, and as it continues to evolve, it will only become more valuable to businesses that want to stay ahead of the competition.
